Terms of Service
Read these terms carefully before using the Jury Finance website or interacting with the protocol's smart contracts. By doing so, you agree to be bound by them.
This document is a non-binding draft provided for transparency. It is not legal advice and should be reviewed by qualified counsel before being relied upon.
1. Acceptance
By accessing jury.finance ("the site") or interacting with the Jury Finance smart contracts ("the protocol"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the site or the protocol.
2. Eligibility and jurisdiction
You represent that you are of legal age in your jurisdiction, are not on any sanctions list, and are not located in or a resident of any jurisdiction where use of the protocol would be unlawful. You are solely responsible for compliance with all laws that apply to you, including securities, commodities, tax, and consumer-protection laws.
3. Nature of the protocol
The protocol is a set of open-source smart contracts deployed to public blockchains. It is non-custodial: funds are held by autonomous code, not by Jury Labs or any other entity. We have no ability to reverse, pause, censor, or recover transactions. Disputes are resolved by a randomly-drawn jury of token stakers acting independently. The protocol is currently deployed on a test network (World Chain Sepolia).
4. No advice; no fiduciary duty
Nothing on the site or in protocol documentation is financial, investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice. Jury Finance is not your broker, dealer, exchange, custodian, advisor, or fiduciary. Consult qualified professionals before transacting.
5. Risks
You acknowledge and accept all risks of using the protocol, including without limitation:
- Smart contract risk. Code can contain bugs. Audits reduce, but do not eliminate, this risk.
- Market and asset risk. Tokens used in escrows can lose value, depeg, become illiquid, or become unsupported by their issuers.
- Counterparty risk. A counterparty may act in bad faith, fail to deliver, or refuse to engage with the dispute process.
- Jury risk. Jurors may decide cases against you. Verdicts are final on-chain.
- Staking and slashing risk. Staked tokens are at risk of partial slashing if you are drawn or liable as a juror and fail to reveal a vote (a "no-show"). Voting with the honest minority is not penalized.
- Regulatory risk. Future law or enforcement action could restrict or prohibit your use of the protocol.
- Network risk. Blockchain congestion, reorgs, MEV, or RPC outages may affect transactions.
6. Wallets and self-custody
You are solely responsible for the security of your wallet, seed phrase, and private keys. We cannot recover lost keys, reverse mistaken transactions, or override on-chain outcomes.
7. Prohibited use
You agree not to use the site or protocol to:
- Engage in unlawful activity, fraud, money laundering, or sanctions evasion;
- Manipulate the jury process, collude with other jurors, or bribe participants;
- Submit false evidence in disputes;
- Attempt to exploit, maliciously reverse-engineer, or denial-of-service the protocol or site;
- Misrepresent your identity, capacity, or authorization to use any wallet.
8. Intellectual property
The protocol and reference client source code are published in the project's public repository under their stated open-source licenses. The "Jury Finance" name, marks, and visual identity remain the property of Jury Labs. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights in those marks beyond fair, descriptive use.
9. Disclaimers
THE SITE AND PROTOCOL ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PROTOCOL WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT VERDICTS WILL BE CORRECT.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, JURY LABS, ITS CONTRIBUTORS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR DIGITAL ASSETS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR PROTOCOL.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jury Labs and its contributors from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the site or protocol, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction designated by Jury Labs from time to time, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration where permitted by law. (Specific jurisdiction and arbitration forum to be set by counsel.)
13. Changes
We may update these Terms as the protocol or applicable law evolves. Continued use of the site or protocol after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
